I really love to spend time at downtown of Mexico City, in this season in particular because the city is so quiet. Well, part of this fascination is for all the amazing buildings: "La quinta casa de correos" is Chicago steel type metal building, very popular in the colonial era, brought from New York, with a lot of details in the building and golden everywhere, that's a reason to think about moving near to live by :)

 

De verdad que me encanta disfrutar de mi tiempo en el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México, mas en ésta época en particular por que la ciudad esta muy tranquila. Bueno, parte de esa fascinación es por todos los edificios sorprendenes: "La quinta casa de correos" es una construcción con acero tipo Chicago, muy de moda en la época virreinal, traída desde Nueva York, con tantos detalles y Dorado en todos lados, esa es una razón por la que me gustaría mudarme para vivir cerca :)

Halloween Mood

Here in Mexico November 1st and 2nd are dates for "Dia de Muertos" (deads days), very special celebration to the deads, the thing is we mix it with Halloween Day :S, so in the streets we have mexican and american skulls, "papel picado" and  pumkins, smell incense and eat candys, desides, the kids' costumes are vampires and "La llorona" (from a mexican leyend). It's a very interesting mix.

 

The most important is enjoy the dates, no matter if you want something more solemn like renew the family grave or something funny like a costume party. In my case, my worker partners made a celebration, it wasn't with costume, but I wanted to use this funny tie with spiders, so last night I danced, sang and ate a lot, but today is for rest. No work!!!

 

Aqui en México, 1° y 2 de Noviembre se tienen los "Dias de Muertos", una celebración a nuestros muertos, el asunto es que aqui lo combinamos con Halloween :S, asi que en las calles pueden ver calaberas mexicanas y norteamericanas, "papel picado" y calabazas, oler incienso y comer dulces, ademas, los disfaces de los niños con de vampiros y de "La Llorona" (de una leyeda mexicana). Una mezcla muy interesante.

 

Lo mas importante es disfrutar las fechas, no importa si prefieres algo solemne, como renovar la tumba familiar o algo divertido, como una fiesta de disfracez. En mi caso, mis compañeros de trabajo organizaron una fiesta, no de disfraces, pero aún así yo quise usar esa divertida corbata de arañas, asi que anoche baié, canté y comí muchisimo, pero hoy es día de descanzo. No hay trabajo!!!

Touch of Red

I'm a total movie junkie, this week I went to the cinema 3 times!! I really love movies and it's been a while since the last season I go so often. I watched: "Ice Age: Continental Drift", "Savages" and (again) "The Amazing Spider-Man". I'm so happy right now. (You can watch the Trailers and read the Synopsis clicking the names of the movies ;)

This is the outfit I wore when I watched "Ice Age: Continental Drift", It is so gray and the idea was to add a touch of red so with this it's not a sad outfit, the result: Light Gray T-shirt+Gray Jeans+RED sneakers; the bag has the inner side of its handle RED and last the middle piece of my (diy) necklace is RED too!

Talking about "Savages", I was really surprised for the movie, I like it so bad, it makes me stay on the edge of my sit. Also, the movie is about a topic trendy here in Mexico: Narcotrafic, something that make (bad) fame to Mexico and, even some parts of the movie are kind of funny, it's something real and increasingly dangerous. 

Soy adicto al cine, esta semana fui 3 veces!! De verdad me encanta ir al cine y ya tenía algo de tiempo desde que iba tan seguido. Vi "La Era de Hielo 4 (Deriva Continental)", "Salvajes" y (de nuevo) "El Sorprendente Hombre-Araña". Que feliz soy ahora. (Pueden ver los trailes y sinopsis dando click en los nombres de las peliculas ;)

Este outfit lo llevaba cuando vì "La Era de Hielo 4", es bastante gris, asi que la idea fue añadir un toque de rojo para que no se viera tan triste, el resultado: Playera Gris Claro+Jeans Grises+Tenìs ROJOS; La parte interior del asa de mi mochila tiene ROJO y por ultimo la pieza central de mi collar (diy) también es ROJO!

Acerca de "Salvajes", quedé realmente sorprendido con la película, estoy fascinado!, me hizo permanecer al borde de mi asiento todo el tiempo. Ademas, la pelicula trata un tema un tanto delicado en México: Narcotráfico, algo que le ha dado (mala) fama a México y, aunque algunas partes de la película eran graciosas, es algo real y que es cada vez mas peligroso.

Orange Regina

I'm still with the heavy end of semester, even I sleep the same time as always, I'm dying of sleep, but that is no sttoping me to go out and celebrate with friends (for now jeje)

A friend has a restaurant-bar called "Regina" on the Regina's street, downtown, I like what the government did to this street some years ago, but it was a great idea and make it area with restaurants and bars, It has a lot of nightlife.

Well, it was my friend's birthday and he celebrated in his bar, I wason my way to the bar when I saw the graffiti, so I took these pics, just opposite the Sor Juana's Cloister, the truth is that downtown has so many incredible places,

My outfit for the party is a little bit unnusual on me: Black. Jeans, blazer and sneakers, all in black color, the color was adding in orange in my t-shirt, I like it neck's cut, although most of my friends are fascinated by the circle of the zodiacal signs, do not know why, anyway.

When I was viewing the pics i was the words "Mexico City 2012" just for the record :P

Y sigo con lo pesado del fin de semestre, aunque duermo el mismo tiempo que siempre, muero de sueño, pero eso no es impedimento para salir a festejar a los amigos (por ahora jeje)

Un amigo tiene un restaurante-bar llamado "Regina" en la calle de Regina, en el centro histórico, como me gusta lo que le hicieron a esta calle, ya tiene algunos años, pero fue una gran idea hacerla peatonal y zona de restaurantes y bares, bastante animada la vida nocturna.

Pues bien, que fue su cumple y lo festejó en su bar, iba caminando hacia allá cuando vi el graffiti, así aproveché para tomarme estas fotos, justo frente al Claustro de Sor Juana, la verdad es que todo el centro tiene tantos lugares increibles,

Para la fiesta usé algo que no uso tanto: Negro. Jeans, saco y tenis negros, añadiendole color con mi playera naranja, lo que me gusta de la playera es el corte del cuello, aunque a casi todos mis amigos les fascina el circulo que tiene de los signos zodiacales, no se por que, en fin.

Al revisar las fotos vi que en algunas esta la leyenda "Mexico City 2012" para que quede registro :P
